Research Coordinator, Center for Research Ceibal Foundation (Uruguay)
Alessia Zucchetti is Research Coordinator of the Center for Research Ceibal Foundation in Uruguay. Her field of expertise is focused in ICT, Internet-related policies and ICT innovation, where she has worked for the past five years in different capacities and organizations. Her current work in Ceibal Foundation includes developing and implementing national and international projects, programmes and capacity-building initiatives in education and technology, building international cooperation and outreach initiatives in areas as digital citizenship, open access, innovation in educational policy, privacy and data protection, among other fields. Before joining Ceibal Foundation, she worked at the Directorate General Connect of the European Commission (Brussels, Belgium) within the Principal Adviser Office and the unit in ICT innovation, and previously at the Europe Direct Center of Forlì (part of the information and communication network of the European Commission in Italy. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations and a Master’s Degree in Mass Media and Politics (Political Science) from the University of Bologna (Italy). She is also involved with different organizations related to the Internet ecosystem – in particular as an Internet Society Ambassador to the Internet Governance Forum (United Nations) in 2016 and 2017, and fellow of the South School of Internet Governance.
