Dr. Elena Morettini is Geoscience Advisor at YPF, the leader Energy Company in Argentina.

During her eleven years in YPF she has worked as Project Manager on oil and gas field development and redevelopment plans and strategies. During her overall 20 years of international industry experience, before coming to South America, she has worked in Europe and the Middle East, as Geologist and Head of Reservoir.

Elena holds a Phd in Isotope Geochemistry from the University of Lausanne in Switzerland and an International Baccalaureate from the United World College of the Adriatic in Italy.

Her recent work as B20-YPF Officer for the Energy, Resource Efficiency and Sustainability TaskForce has involved the coordination of more than 150 companies in the formulation of key energy recommendations to the G20 governments, during the 2018 Argentina G20 Presidency.

Elena has also covered the role of Vice-Chair for the European Union Horizon 2020 Marie Curie Actions, assigning funds for industry-academia cooperation projects on innovative research and training, to enhance young researchers ‘employability and career development in Energy and Environment.

In August 2017, following the international momentum, she has co-founded together with other colleagues, the Diversity and Inclusion Committee of YPF.
