Mariano Mayer

Secretary of Entrepreneurship and SMEs, Government of Argentina

Mariano Mayer obtained his degree and post-degree as Lawyer and Master in Business Law at Austral University, and he studied corporate finance at CEDEF (Law, Business and Finance Studying Center, for its spanish acronym). In addition, he was a professor of Information Law at the School of Communication of Austral University and he also had teached in several institutions dedicated to promote the entrepreneurial activity in Argentina. For 15 years he has worked as an attorney for entrepreneurs. In September 2013 he was appointed as the Head of the General Direction of Entrepreneurship of Buenos Aires City, established as part of the new “”Innovation Plan”” for the city. In the GCE 2015 in Milan, the city of Buenos Aires won the GEC Cities Challenge for the rapidly expanding ecosystem of startups and innovation policies designed to promote growth of its entrepreneurs. In December 2015 he was appointed as Secretary of Entrepreneurs and SMEs of Argentina. Under his leadership, it was created for the first time in the history of the Argentine government the Undersecretary of Entrepreneurs.
